St George’s Church is a large Parish Church in central Newcastle that serves a diverse community. Our worship is in the catholic tradition of the Church of England. We are members of Inclusive Church and are committed to the ministry of women and men. Our congregations include people from diverse backgrounds and different Christian traditions, and with different experiences of the Church and faith: we seek to welcome everyone in the name of Christ.
St George’s Church offers facilities for many different groups and societies. Built in 1888 it is a unique Grade I fusion of Arts and Crafts with Art Nouveau, containing stunning mosaics. This lively church is noted for its music, the involvement of members of the congregation in the local community and as a place of quiet and peace in a busy city.
